How do I fix the major slowdowns and hangups occurring in Excel 2.

Since upgrading to XP SP2 and the latest Excel 2003 (SP1, build
11.6355.6360), Excel frequently locks up and takes many minutes to recover.
This generally happens whenever I try to change formatting of cells (i.e.
font size), try to get a print preview, or just save a file after making
changes. I had been giving up on the "not responding" program and killing it
with Task Manager, but find that if I wait long enough (4-5 minutes) Excel
recovers. The files I am editing were built with a previous version of Excel
2003, but I would have thought them to be compatible with the latest version!
Help!!!

Try selecting a different default printer in Windows, and see if the problems
persist. If not, then the problem is caused by a damaged printer driver for
your normal printer, and you can probably fix it by deleting and reinstalling
the printer in Start | Control Panel | Printers. Check the printer
manufacturer's website for an updated driver for your printer while you're at
it.
