How do I fix missing images in Windows Help?

Lots of my Windows Help result pages are missing the images (I just get the
traditional broken link red cross and "show content" label).

I looked at the source* for one on the "Reporting and resolving computer
problems page" but I can't find or find out how to find the icon: the system
seems to be broken because it doesn't matter whether I am including online
help or not - all images are missing.... (although on another page, when I
switched back from Offline to Online images appeared, they still don't on
"Reporting and resolving...")

How do I fix this? Is Vista really broken or...?

Thanks

Fix Windows Vista Help & Support - Kristan Kenney -

This is a registry fix that reassociates the .xml file type with default
settings.

Icons in Help are missing - This happens if the "Content Type" setting
for .PNG file types is broken. Download a REG file from Daniel Martin's
site here:
http://winvista.mvps.org/Ficheros/PNG.reg - Download and save it to
Desktop. Right-click on the file and choose Merge.

Hi,

thanks for the suggestions: I did both the png and the xml fix and (though
no restart yet) I don't see any difference.

Further info:

On the search home page I have icons for Windows Basics through to What's
New, and at the bottom beside "For in depth..." and "For more information..."
but beside the "Windows Remote Assistance line between them is the classic
red-cross box.

Thanks for taking the trouble to offer your thoughts though!

Hi Julian,

The fix applies only after a restart. This was the case in my own system, after I installed DreamWeaver in order to replicate the problem.
