How do I fix a read-only error when opening a database?

When I open my DB on my networked computers, I get a "read-only" message. The
only thing I changed was that I upgraded to Windows XP Professional and my
Switchboard got all messed up and had to download an updated mdac file. Not
sure how to fix this.
