How do i find?

Windoes XP Professional was installed over work folders
and programs, have tried to run a file folder restore
software to get them back only to find that 3 quarter way
through it stops and a message violation security comes
up and i can not get any further. Where are the files
located on the computer after a full system change is
made. Are they in a special partition of the computer and
only get removed when wrote over. If so how can i find
these files that were previously on my computer before
full changeover reboot.

Your out of luck....you should have backed up these files first.
