How do I find & restore the original "normal.doc" template in Wor.

Now & then my WORD 2002 program starts asking me if I want to do something
about the "Normal" Word template when I'm closing a document. Sometimes I
can't escape the questiopning with a "No" or "Cancel" or "Escape," so I agree
to save the "new template" and I save it as Normalx, Normaly, etc. So when I
pull down "File, open "New" and click "templates" I see only the "Normals"
that I have reluctantly saved. I seem to have no access to the original
normal, and I guess the Word program is opening each blank doc in one of
these corrupted (?) Normals, because now I only hjave to type a line or 2 in
a new doc before the "Program encounters a problem and must close" and I send
another error report. I find nothing in the online index nor in Prior threads
on this subjecct. How do I find and restore the original Word doc
"Normal.dot" (?) template without interfering with any other programs? And is
it only then safe to delete the "Normals" I have saved in "Templates?"

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm. And if you are
being prompted to save Normal.dot every time you close Word, look for a
rogue add-in that is causing the problem. The most common culprits are the
Office Plug-in in Norton AntiVirus and the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for
Word.
