I went to the start menu and went into programs but the only thing i see is
microsoft works word processor. I just want to know if it's the same as
microsoft word and if not then where do i find this program

They are not the same. Microsoft Word is part of Microsoft Office. It is not
free with new computers. It has to be ordered along with the computer or
purchased. Once you purchase it and install it, you will find it where you
commonly find programs through the Start...Programs menu. Good luck!

Actually, depending on what version of Works was purchased, Word may be
included. For example, Word 2002 is part of Works Suite 2006 (see
http://www.microsoft.com/products/works/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=001 for
details)

In any case, this newsgroup is intended for questions about Access, the
database product that's part of Office Professional. This question would be
better directed to a newsgroup that's related to Works (or perhaps one
related to Word)
