How do I exit a slide show, then re-enter the show at same slide?

I will be interrupting a Powerpoint slide show many times to demonstrate
software and wish to always restart the slide show where I left off rather
than at the beginning. Note that I am using dual monitors: laptop and
projector. The laptop always displays the slides with notes in the normal
view. The projector displays the slide show and contains the software
demonstration. The transition between the two projected displays is done
with ESC and SHFT-F5. I don't want to have to search for the slide when I
resume the slide show as this confuses the audience.

Why not have the other program open, along with your Slideshow, then press
ALT+TAB to switch back and forth?
