How do I enter and share a list of birthdays in outlook

I would like to create a list of birthdays and anniversaries in Outlook that
I can email to my family and they can import into their calendars. Any
ideas? Thanks

I assume your family members also have Outlook, so these instructions go
along with that assumption. Once you've created the list of birthdays and
anniversaries in your own calendar, do the following:

1) Create a new .PST file via File | New | Outlook Data File (or Personal
Folders File if you use Outlook 98 or 2000). Give it a unique name and
filename so you don't get it confused with your regular .PST file. Make
sure you save it to a place where you can easily find it later. It will
open in your Folder List.
2) Create a calendar folder in the new set of Personal Folders, if there
isn't one already there. To do this, right click the root folder and choose
New Folder, then create a folder that contains Appointment items.
3) Switch your original calendar folder to the Events view. Select all of
the birthdays and anniversaries -- use CTRL to select multiple items.
Right-click the group and drag it to the new calendar folder and release the
mouse button. Choose "Copy" from the popup menu.
4) When the copy is done, close the new .PST file out of Outlook by
right-clicking its root folder and selecting Close.
5) Find the .PST file you just created and e-mail it to your family members.
Tell them to save it to their hard drive, make sure it's not marked Read
Only, then open it in Outlook via File | Open. It will open in their folder
list and they can drag and drop the events to their own calendars. When
they're done with the file they can close it out of Outlook the same way you
did in step 4.

And to add to what Jocelyn said, rename the file extension to ".ps_" as .pst
files are now blocked by Outlook as potentially dangerous. Include
instructions in your mail for renaming the file back to .pst.

Also, a second method would be to export birthdays to Excel (if the rest of
the family has Excel also) and send the spreadsheet.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, jbs asked:
