How Do I enable XP's Wireless Zero Configuration

B

Brandon

My Microsoft Wireless Zero Configuration got turned off
somehow and I'm trying to use the XP wireless controls to
support my wireless network card. The problem I'm having
is trying to re-activate the Wireless Zero
Configuration. I cannot find where to turn this option
back on. As of now My wireless card working and not
using it's own management tools; however, windows will
not give me the option of choosing wireless networks. It
just automatically chooses one. I tried openeing the
Microsoft Management Console and re-activating the
Wireless Zero Configuration. After searching through
every prouduct in the sercies tab, I coudln't find the
Wireless Zero Configuration set up. Any explanations on
how I can re-active this, or somehow turn it on would be
a great help. I just want to use the windows wireless
management system to work my wireless network card.
Any help would be of use
Thanks

Open services and scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration Service,
Start the service and set it to automatic. If it does not show in the
list of Services:

run regedit and find

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WZCSVC

add a DWORD entry named "Start" and
value "2"
