How do I enable TCP/IP on a wireless network adaptor?

I have a Linksys USB wireless network adaptor hooked to a pc running Windows
XP Home Edition. I've been having problems getting it to connect to the
internet. It will establish a link to the router but says that it can't find
the internet. When I tried to Repair the connection (by right clicking on
the wireless network icon on the task bar and selecting 'Repair") a message
popped up saying "TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection." Can someone
please tell me how to enable TCP/IP on this device?

By the way, if anyone thinks I should be asking Linksys how to do this, I
already have and they told me to consult Microsoft or the computer
manufacturer.

Un-install the Linksys USB wireless network adapter and its software.
Reboot, re-install the software, then re-install the network adapter.

I wouldn't accept that answer from a Linksys tech -- it's their
product and their problem. If the person I'm talking to can't help,
I'd ask to talk to a supervisor or to someone at the next level of
tech support.

This won't help you solve the problem, but I've had so much trouble
with Linksys network adapters, wired and wireless, over so many years
and so many Windows versions, that I won't buy Linksys any more. I
prefer Motorola, D-Link, Netgear, and Belkin.

Good luck!

You're welcome. Linksys tech support should have suggested
un-installing and re-installing as the first step to fixing the
problem. If they didn't, they're incompetent, which would be another
reason to avoid the brand.
