How do I dump a whole folder of pictures into slide show at once

I have a folder of pictures with which I want to create into a picture slide
show. Do I have to insert pictures one at a time onto slides? Or is there
some way of dumping a whole folder into Powerpoint so that the pictures each
appear on their own slide without 'manually' placing them there.
