How do I do PHRASE search in Outlook (2002) using Advanced Find?

Hi

Anyone know of any utilities that search
msOutlook (Office2002) properly?!

I want to search for exact whole phrases
(e.g. "red boot") but I cant get
Outlook to do this.

The "Advance Find" simply lists all instances of
both "red" AND all instances of "boot"!!

How can I do a search for the exact phrase
"red boot" only?

P.S. The obvious thing of putting the phrase in double quotes
doesn't work!

How are you doing the search? It should correctly find the phrase red boot -
with or without quotes:
red boot
"red boot"

it should only treat them as single words if you use a comma separator: red,
boot

Make sure to use Advanced Search and the "Search in" box says Subject Field
and Message Body. The default is just Subject field.

Hi

This didnt seem to work but I shall try again.

Logically I sometimes need to search the text of my
emails for

a)
"red boot" - the exact phrase with the words side by side

b)
"red" and "boot" - both words present but not necessarily together

c)
"red" OR "boot" - i.e. I want to see all instances of emails that
have one or the other of the words
present.

Please can you tell me how to do EACH of the above!!

By the way have any of you guys tried Googles new
"Desktop Search" utility to search your own computer?!

It could be the answer! Free. Though still only a Beta...

Ive done some further testing. It seems that

red boot

will search for emails containing both the word "red" AND
the word "boot"!

But how do I get it to filter on the *EXACT PHRASE*
red boot
???

The obvious thing of putting it in *double quotes*
(i.e. "red boot" with the quotes) ... doesnt seem to work!

Sadly I cant get the Google Desktop search to work on my emails.
Works a treat on other types of file though. Blisteringly fast!!
