How do I do an IF command with cell shading?

I've got a spreadsheet with cells that have different colored backgrounds
depending on which year they will occur. I want to create an IF statement
that will set it to equal zero of the cell shading is grey. Is there any way
I can do this?

Hi,
To do that you will need to rely on a user defined function. See the

Note that a UDF will only evaluate the original background color of the
cell, not the color that is forced by conditional formatting.
