How do I disconnect from the Internet?

Hi,

I have two XP machines connected on a LAN. All works perfectly except that
I can find no way of disconnecting the client machine from the internet once
connected.

I don't get a Internet Connected icon in the notification area on the client
so can only disconnect from the server machine.

Am I missing something obvious here?
