How do i design a web site and put it on the world wide web

I am very new to all this, I need to Design a web sit with my companys
details what we do how we can be reached etc. Also I need to know how to put
it on the world wide web where it would be easy for our customers to find us.
I have been thrown in at the deep end by my company and really do not know
where to start, Please if you have the time to help please do get back to me
I do pick up things quite quickley hope there is someone out there who can
