On my laptop at home, there is a tool that lets you highlight text, like you
would do with a highlighter pen, basically. But now that i'm in college, on
the same document off my flash drive, there is no tool there and i cant find
it anywhere! I need to hand this document in today and i cant leave
highlighted bits on!! someone please help asap. Sophie

Word 2000-2003 (you didn't mention version of Word)

Right click on menus and select Formatting Toolbar that is default.

OR you can clear highlights with

Find Replace - press CTRL H

select "More" button if not on

"Find What:" Click in this box

click "Format" (on bottom) and select "Highlight" on drop down

click "Replace All"

Hope this helps.

Right-Click on any toolbar and select Customize. Click on the Options tab
and select Always Show Full Menu. That stops the idiotic adaptive menus from
hiding icons.

As an aside, never save Word document directly to the flash memory: always
save to the local HDD first and then COPY or MOVE the document to the flask
stick.
