How do I delete original contact list and utilize secondary list

I copied all of my previous files and folders from my old computer to my new
computer. It added a secondary contact list that I would like to combine and
it will not allow that function. If nothing else I would like to keep the
new one but again the system will not allow me to delete the original contact
group.

Please help

You can't delete the original contact list that is in the same set of folders
where your mail is delivered. You can copy all of your contacts from one
folder to another...switch the source folder to the By Category view (which
lists all contacts, no filter is in place), click a contact, press CTRL+A to
select all, then drag to the destination folder.
