How do I delete messages in my Outbox

I forwarded photos to someone and the message has been in my outbox for a few
days. I am unable to delete it because it tells me its sending. How can I
permanentaly delete this item in my outbox? I am using Mirosoft Office XP
with Outlook 2003.
 
1. Use File->Work Offline. Close and reopen Outlook and see if you can
delete it.
2. Create a new .pst file and make it the default. Close and reopen
Outlook and delete the file from the outbox.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
