how do I delete e-mail names that pop up when I start to type a name in the
"to" or "cc" lines of an outgoing e-mail?

The fact is that Outlook 2002 and 2003 stores every address you enter,
including addresses you look up in OUtlook's Contacts, in a hidden file that
you can't edit. There is no easy solution to this problem. You can delete
entries from the file one at a time in certain instances. To do this, click
the New button to open a new message, type the first three characters of the
cached name into the To field to trigger the autocomplete feature. Press the
Down Arrow key to highlight hte offending cached name and then press Delete
to remove it.

Unfortunately, this only works if more than one cached name begins with the
first three letters, triggering the drop down list.
