I am trying to do a mail merge with an excel file as my list of receipents,
however there is a column in the excel file that is keeping the labels from
merging. How do I delete that column so that the label will show up. I
don't want to delete the column out of the excel spreadsheet, that is out of
the question.

I don't really understand the problem.

If the field *is not* inserted into the label setup it should have no
bearing on the merge. Simply 'existing' in the record source doesn't cause it
to have any effect.

There must be more to the situation. Is this an *empty* column in Excel that
is splitting the fields (columns) that contain the record data?

What *does* happen when you attempt to do the merge? What is it about this
'field' that causes you to think *it* is preventing the merge?

More detailed info would be quite helpful, including what version of the
software you are using.
