I set up a password that I have to enter when I receive new mail. Now I want
to delete it but can't figure out how. I followed the instructions on Help.
See below:

On the Go menu, click Folder List.
In the Navigation Pane (Navigation Pane: The column on the left side of the
Outlook window that includes panes such as Shortcuts or Mail and the
shortcuts or folders within each pane. Click a folder to show the items in
the folder.), right-click the top level of the .pst file.
Click Properties.
Click Advanced.
Click Change Password.
In the Old password box, type the password that you set on the .pst file.
Leave the New password and Verify password boxes blank.

When I click on OK I always get a message that the password is incorrect. I
know it isn't. How can I delete it?

Sounds like you are talking about your account password and not the pst
password. In your account settings you can set it to remember your password
on send/receive so that you don't have to enter it manually each time.

That IS your account password.

I must be missing something here. Now I have an automatic sign on when I open
IE then open Outlook. But I have to enter a password when I click on
Send/Receive. The Send/Receive password is the one I want to disable, delete,
turn off...

You can't; it's is the password to access your mail account provided by your
ISP. Mail accounts are password protected. Outlook has nothing to do with
this. It doesn't require you to create it, it doesn't manage the password
nor will it ever prompt you to change it. The password is managed by the ISP
that hosts your mailbox. You are asking to remove all locks from your house
so that you don't have to use your keys anymore, or anyone else so everyone
has access. Like I said in my first reply; all Outlook can do for you is to
remember this password so that you don't have enter it at each send/receive
interval. You can configure this in your account settings.

The ISP has nothing to do with THIS password. I used the account for months
before I set up the password I want to delete. I set it up using the steps in
my first message.

This is not the password my ISP has for the account.

This is internal to Outlook.
I set it up inside Outlook.
Outlook will not let me delete the use of THIS password.

I don't know how else to say this. Please don't send me any more replies.
Thanks for your time.
