How do I create multiple scroll bars within one Excel sheet?

Hi Joe,
Specifically in Excel you have on the window menu of Excel
Freeze and Split they are pretty much the same and are mutually exclusive.
Split will get you a (one) split horizontal and/or vertical and the areas are separately

To split both ways Select cell F15 then window, split -- to undo window, remove split
To split just on rows select cell A15 then window, split -- to undo window, remove split
to split just on columns seelct cell F1 then window, spli -- to undo window, remove splitt

Hi David,
I'm working on an Excel sheet that is broken down to two parts. On one side
of the sheet has info and values and the other side has relative info. The
side with the relative info goes down much farther than the side with the
values. So when I get ready to enter values on the other side I have to
scroll back up to the top. I'd like to insert a verticle scroll bar for the
"values" half of the sheet to keep it aligned with the "relative info" side.

P.S. I'm being asked to rate your response - from where am I supossed to
provide rate info.

Hi Joe,
Think I answered your question, but my web page does not have pictures
on it. The part about one side not going down as far as the other side does
not fit in with a double split, but the part about avoiding scrolling to the top
and back is what SPLIT is about. Choosing the point to split at is what you
have to select and you can move the split by dragging the black bar between
the scrollers or drag it out of the scrolling areas to remove it.

I don't even know what the rating question looks like, and really don't want to
know, nor have anything to do with any web based interface to newsgroups.
Some of the other web interfaces actually destroy use of newsgroups, and
web searching, mainly those that have "forum" in their names.

The rating is probably an attempt to find out if the question was answered or
not, which would show up in Microsoft Communities. It would never be seen
by those who post directly to the newsgroups with a newsreader. So if something
is not obviously answered (like this question) we would not know unless you post
an actual response. . .

David,
I understand your response completely, and the split function does work as
well as creating a copy of one half of the document and pasting it onto
another sheet, then veiwing the two sheets at the same time, but ultimately
what would be the most efficient is to have another scroll bar right down the
middle to be able to operate each half independently. A good example of what
I'm tring to accomplish is in the discussion group we are using to
communicate. One side contains the questions and number of posts and the
other side has the reply(s); each with its independent scroll bar. Can this
be accomplished in Excel?

Hi Joe,
In addition to being able to split both vertically and horizontally at the same time
but not as four independent areas, you can get another view of the
workbook which you might already be doing.
View, Window, New Window
then you will see the workbook name on the title bar like
2004-11.xls:1 and 2004-11.xls:2
which you can arrange however you want. To eliminate a view simple
close that view and you will be left with just one view 2004-11.xlx

You will see the menu on the window menu to arrange.
