How do I create the fields in a word document to accept data from a database.

I want to be able to export data from the appripriate database fields into
the word document with similar fields within the text......

Example.......

It took "X" light years to travel.....etc.............X will be the data
from the database?

Any simple example or link to an example that I could experiment with would
be appreciated.

Thanks

Unless you use mail merge (functionality is in the Tools menu) there is no
"simple" way to do this. It requires VBA programming, with the code either in
Word or in the database. You'll find an example of this with a bit of
explanation, using Access as the database, in the WdAcc97.zip file you can find
here

If you want to follow up on this approach, I suggest you ask in one of the
word.vba newsgroups.
