How do I covert a word docment to excel?

I have streaming data on a word document that I want to convert to excel. In
excel I can see the data lined up in different columns and correct easier.
When I try to "save as" it does not give me the .xls option.

What do I do?

Copy and paste

Convert it to a comma delimited text file and open that in Excel -
essentially the same method as shown at
