How do I correct this formula?

G

=(G6)-SUM(B6:E6)/G6 ...numbers are 10.29-(7.58)/10.29

Answer is .26 but Excel enters 9.55.

If Diffucult1 answers, thank you for your help on the previous forumula. It
really worked ... however, I figured out that I need a positve not a negative
answer.

The same idea applies; you've got to use parens to get the correct order of
operation: =((G6)-SUM(B6:E6))/G6 will force the subtraction before the
division. See the help on 'calculation operators', and check 'the order in
which Excel performs operations in formulas.'

=(G6-SUM(B6:E6))/G6

or even

=IF(G6="","",(G6-SUM(B6:E6))/G6)

so you don't get an error if G6 is empty
