How do I correct a send and receive error message in out look?

I get an error message when I try to check my e-mail that says outlook is
unable to connect to incoming POP3 e-mail server. How do I correct this.
I've checked the account settings and they are correct
 
any firewalls in place that might be blocking Outlook access?
See if you can connect to the same POP3 server using another email account.
You might try to remove the account and add it again from scratch.
