How do I copy or move a worksheet to another workbook?

When I use the Move or Copy . . . command, I get the following alert message
and cannot move or copy.
"Excel cannot insert worksheets in the destination workbook, because it
contains fewer rows and columns than the source workbook. To move or copy the
data to the destination workbook, you can select the data, and then use the
Copy and Paste commands to insert it into the sheets of nbother workbook."

Selecting only works with cells and not with lines, objects or text boxes.

The Move or Copy ... command use to work with previous versions but doesn't
seem to work with Excel 2007.

What should I do to copy a sheet with date and objects?

Hi Graham,

Obviously, your source file is in 2007 format, but your target file is not.

Save your source as legacy 97-2003 file, close the file and open the 97-2003
file. Then copy the worksheet to the other workbook.

Jan - Can you still drag and drop when both workbooks are open in Excel 2007?
I know I use this alot, then close the previous workbook without saving the
change.

Unfortunately this did not work for me.

Used Excel 2007 to open a .dbf file and saved it as a MS Excel 97-2003 file.
End result only 10 columns wide, 300 rows deep. Has 3 named ranges and
removed named range 'Database'. Tried to move/copy to another MS Excel
97-2003 file and got the error message listed also.

No solution... except to switch back to Excel 2003.

I have experimented with a number of different combinations of file formats
and it seems to be hit and miss. As a general rule, I never use the 2007 file
format because of backwards incompatibility with those I share my files with.

So I find it difficult to believe that it is "obviously" the source of the
problem. Their has to be something else.
