how do I convert Works files into Word 2003 running Vista?

I have some old .wps files I can't open. I'm running Word 2003 on Vista Home
Premium. I tried the "Help" file in Word, but it has no Vista specific help
and the XP instructions didn't work. Thanks in advance.

If the correct filter is installed, Word should recognize it as a Works file
and open it correctly. So... the first place to check would be in Word 2003
setup, and make sure that any available Works filters are installed (Control
Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - Microsoft Office 2003 - Change -
Add or Remove Features - Next - Choose advanced customization... - Next -
Office Shared Features - Converters and Filters - Text Converters - etc.).

If that doesn't do it... there are additional filters available for download
that might have what you need:
