how do i convert a word doc to PDF?

Hello,

I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 and MS Word 2003.

I am accustomed to converting Quark files to PDF but not Word files.

When I to convert to PDF in Word, I get a 'print to file' dialog box and I
do not know what to select.

When I try it another way (select Print, select Acrobat distiller), a file
is saved as a .prn file and I don't know what to do next with it.

Thanks

You will need Acobat Writer, the free Acrobat Reader doesn't allow the
creation of PDF files. If you have the writer installed just select
file/print and select Adobe PDF as the printer.

Mike, it sounds like you DO have the full version of Acrobat. When you go to
print in Word and choose the Distiller, look to your right ... there is a
small check box that reads "print to file". That should NOT be checked. When
it is, your output will be a print (.prn) file. Uncheck it. Now you'll the
output will be a .pdf file.

Mike,
After you get the .prn file try opening Acrobat Distiller
and under 'File' select open and open the .prn file then
save as a .pdf
