How do I convert a Word 2003 doc to Notepad?

I have several Word docs I've been told to convert to Notepad, something I've
never done before. In fact, I'm not even sure what Notepad is or does. But
I guess I'm about to find out.

NotePad reads/creates unformatted text documents; it's included with
Windows, and you can read about it in Windows Help.

To save a Word document in text format, use File | Save As, and choose
a text format such as text only.

Any chance this has something to do with a resume?
