Well you may be able to open the PDF in Word and then save it as a DOC.
With as many flavors of PDF I am not sure one answer will work for all
files, especially the ones that are basically just an image file.
BTW it usually is a good idea to provide information in the big white
box and not rely on the subject line. Information about the version of Word
for example.
