How do I connect to 2 LAN's simultaneously?

I will be putting in 2 LAN's in my (small) office, one, (LAN A), will consist of only two
computers, the other (LAN B) will consist of 4 computers. LAN A centers around a USR
broadband router while LAN B uses a simple network hub in a peer-to-peer configuration.

I want to connect to both LAN's with my computer so that I can have internet access AND
access to a management program on LAN B.

I will already have an integrated NIC on my mobo, can I add another PCI NIC and connect to
the other LAN?
If so, do I name the workgroups the same in both LAN's or ahould they be different?

All computers involved will be running WinXP pro

Thanks for any suggestion and advice.

If you find out how to do that, please post it.
I've wanted to do that for a couple years,
but my contacts in Redmond would only
say that it's "messy".

you have a router, a hub and open ports? seems easy to me... cable the hub to the router, set domains if you want or make sure the
workgroup name is the same on all machines and no two machines have the same "identity"

I often wonder what Domain is and how to use it. Can you suggest where I can read up on
it?

but I want my machine to be the ONLY ONE to have assess to both networks.

And is no problem with WinNT class OSes (which WinXP is, being NT
5.1)

See inline below.
be different?

Yes, another NIC is needed. No, they should actually be DIFFERENT.

Also, they should be different TCP/IP subnets.

Otherwise, no problem.
