how do i connect my blackberry and transfer information?

I am having trouble figuring out how to transfer my information (schedules,
contacts, etc.) from my blackberry to my laptop and vice versa. Am I missing
some critically important information when using Outlook 2003 and my
blackbetty? I want to say that the blackberry is paired and connected to the
computer, but I just cant figure out how to get the data to transfer.
