How do I configure Outlook 2003 if I can't open it?

I keep getting an error message that My Microsoft Exchange server is
unavailabe, then when I try to work offling I get an error message "Unable to
open your default e-mail folders. Your profile is not configured." I just
installed this so how do I configure it?
 
Go thru the mail applet in the control panel. (You should be able to remove
the Exchange transport and configure for POP3/IMAP with a personal folders
file.)
