how do i configure front page to publish to web

I am trying to publish my web page but the publish web button is greyed out
is there anything I can do?

You must first have created a web, not just a page. Then, open your web in
FP, File | Publish and enter the appropriate URL.

You must have a web / site open first before you can publish. When you start FP, you must use File
Menu | Open Web / Site first.

You have to open your Web/Site first before the Publish button is available.
IOW you have to create a web/site first before you can Publish.

Are you trying to publish an individual page or a web?
The Publish command can only publish complete webs -
File->Open Web /Site (exact wording varies with FP version)
Then publish the web.
