Malke thanks for the input, I don't participate in discussion groups very
often so I am not familiar with the term. I will remember this, but I just
keep wondering that if you killfile him are you also not killfiling the
individual who asked the question? Where does he go from here if no other
input is entered? I am just a little confused...

How your killfile works depends on what newsreader you use. You're using the
web interface, which is pretty dreadful. I have no idea if the web
interface to these newsgroups allows you to manage posts/posters since I
use a real newsreader. Setting up a newsreader is extremely easy. Here is
information about that:

Since you are using the web interface, you may not realize that this is
really a newsgroup. You will get far more out of this resource if you learn
to use a newsreader. There are many good newsreaders for Windows, but you
can use Outlook Express (XP) or Windows Mail (Vista) since you already have
it. Here are some links to information about newsgroups:

Appreciate your reply and just to be clear, you are saying that if anyone has
questions regarding hardware not to come to Misrosoft Forums for
help/questions? Is this correct, or did I misunderstand your reply?

Bebz
It would make sense if it was RELATED to WINDOWSXP (see group title).
A PS problem has nothing to do with ANY OS and as such is out of place
here.

Oh, and replies are supposed to go down HERE.

Gurney, You could have just pointed him/her to the correct location. This
database is extensive and the savy at this know exactly where to go, those
of
us who don't, look for the closest heading. And this is "Hardware" in
Windows
XP.....

I'm not sure what you are replying to. There are none of Gurney's stupid
posts in this thread, though you seem to be replying to one. In fact I
haven't seen any posts from Gurney for nearly a week. I had just assumed
that his homework was keeping him busy, or his mummy had banned him from his
PC.

Just in case, the server has dropped it or it has been deleted, Gurney is
our resident ****wit who thinks that he alone is entitled to decide what can
and can't be posted in this newsgroup. He isn't and he cant (two concepts
he can't grasp).

To the OP: this is a perfectly acceptable place to post you question, no
matter how muh the stupid ****wit, Gurney, thinks it isn't.

I'm not convinced that the term 'troll' is actually correct. A troll
generally posts controversial or off topic material with the aim of baiting
others into a long discussion. Gurney doesn't do that. He posts the same
exactly (nearly) worded post to any other post that he considers off topic.
Gurney may be a ****wit but not, I believe, a troll. Not unsurprisingly,
Wikipedia does not have an entry for this term.

Killfiling the individual does not kill the thread. All that happens is
that posts from that individual are ignored by and do not appear on your
newsreader. Unfortunately the process isn't perfect and replies to the
killfiled person do appear.

Unfortunately, in Gurney's case, the killfiling is only tempoary, because
like the true ****wit that he is and because of his mental illness (which is
what his obsession is), he regularly changes his posting name to ensure that
his continual repetition has as wide an audience as possible.

At least I'm not a hypocrite like you.

Unlike you who is just a hypocrite.

Double check the configuration of the motherboard - any jumpers and
other connections and that the CPU is plugged in correctly (if this
applies).

Problem solved!!!! Thanks to all!!
The problem was that the "clear CMOS jumper" was in "Clear CMOS"
position - it should be in "normal" position.
The motherboard was A33G from PC Chips. Now my PC is working!
Other parts I used:

CPU cooler - WATER COOLER XIGMATEK|AIO-S80DP
2GB RAM - MEM 2G|PQI MAD42GUOE R
AMD CPU - CPU AMD|A64 X2 5000+ 2.6G AM2 2M R
case - CASE ATHENATECH|A3602BB.400 BK RT
DVD and HD I used from my old PC. HD had WinXP - I didn't have to
reinstall any software.

One remark - water cooler is pretty big - and takes a lot of space but
fits on the MB. Standard 4 pin ATX power connector must be connected
to MB BEFORE installing the cooler - the cooler blocks the power
connector.

Thanks again,

Zalek
