I have two hard drives...one is only 5GB and the other 80GB .I loaded basic
windows and a few 32 bit programs on this HrDrV 5GB and upgraded from Windos
98 se to XP using it but now want all the new XP info (updates) to be loaded
only on slave *80GB NFTS files only .How do I direct this operation? or make
update do this automatically...... so I don,t overload the 32 bit Hrdrv of
only 5 GBs?Thanks ! Leslie C Boles/ (e-mail address removed)

Leslie;
Most the updates will be integrated with Windows so they must reside with
Windows (5 GB drive in your case)
You need to change something since 5 GB is the very minimum or below the
minimums recommended for just Windows.
To start, uninstall the programs on the 5 GB drive and reinstall on the
other drive.
Do NOT install anything other than Windows on such a small hard drive.
These changes may give you a little time, but the real solution is a larger
drive, 10 GB minimum assuming only Windows XP, updates and Service Packs.

During the installation process windows update will use the largest
available space for it's working area - the 80GB drive, but the files,
when installed, will be installed to the volume where the XP OS is. You
can't change that.
