How do I change the open-file screen format

I've recently started ripping MP3 files from my CD's, and using Windows
Explorer to edit the track data.

Now, when I go to use Word, instead of file data being shown, such as date
modified, author, etc., it is showing music file data - track #, artist,
album, etc.

How do I get my file data to show instead?

Show where? What interface? And which version of Word and Windows? Do you see
this in any other program, such as Excel or Powerpoint?
