how do I change the color of the subject line

I have received several e-mails where the subject line is red. I don't have
the budget to hire an army of IT guys to figure this out, so I turn my
question to this community. I've been playing around with forwarding past due
tasks and tried looking at the source of the e-mail, but the subject line
isn't included. Any help would be appreciated. I know that this is possible
but I can't seem to figure out how.

Version of Outlook?

Those are done using autoformatting (a View setting) on the recipients
computer, not the senders, so you can't guarantee it will work as expected
for any particular recipient.

Try setting flag with a due date of yesterday and sending it to yourself.

Have a look at the email headers (View, Options) to see if there is
anything particular about the Subject line. Actually I would be
interested to know what you find there.

It has nothing to do with the subject line. Go to Views, Current view,
customize and see what autoformatting rules are in use. If the only red rule
is for past due items, look in the message header for X-Message-Flag: Follow
up - the reminder should be in the winmail.dat that is on the message.

If it annoys when you get messages with a flag set to a past date, set a
rule to clear the message flag.
