How do I change the built-in text formatting styles?

I want to modify the built-in text formatting styles in the drop-down menu on
the Formatting bar. For example, in the drop-down menu, "Normal" is set to
default to Times New Roman. How do I change the default? Also, how do I add
a new style to the list in the drop-down menu?

Create an external style sheet and apply it to all pages
Normal is the style for <p> tags
