How do I change File > Open default directory from My Documents

B

Ben

Every time I open Excel 2002 and choose File > Open it defaults to My
Documents.
While working in Excel, it will always remember the last directory I was in.
When I close, and then relaunch Excel, File > Open defaults back to My
Documents.
Is there some way to change which directory is default when using File >
Open.
I would like to do this without registry edits or changing the target path
of My Documents shortcut if possible.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Gord, I'm using Office 2007. I don't have a Tools icon to click on so
how to I follow this recommendation. Actually, if I select tools from
the new commands list it appears along with the other icons at the top
of the page, but when I right or left click it there's no
Option>General path for me to follow.
Thanks............Paul C

The recommendation was for OP who was using 2002.

For 2007..............Button>Excel Options>Save

"Default file location" is where you enter the path.
