How do I change default Install directory

Ben

Hi, I have a partitioned hard drive with seperate partition for my
applications. How do I set the default installation path to be E:\Program
Files not C:\Program Files? This will make it much more convenient for me.
Plus, some installation programs just install in the default location with
no chance to specify!

If the standard installation doesn't offer a Change Destination, select
a Custom installation. I've never had a problem with this.

Thanks. Will this allow me to leave the Windows Apps like IE and Outlook
express in place? I don't really want to change where Windows looks for it's
Program Files, just where it installs things as default.

Hi Ben,

This particular edit allows you to change the directory used as the default
location for software applications and shared files.

For the latter: Same key, different value name: CommonFilesDir
