How do I change a r-to-l heading2 setting on a Word 2000 document?

I've picked up a Word document and am trying to format headings etc then to
outline number etc. Headings1 and 3 are OK, but Heading2 is positioning
right-aligned. The top ruler is in reverse from 16 down to 0cm, so right
indent is on LHS and left indent is on RHS. If I apply outline numbering, it
goes to the right of the text instead of the left, just for this heading
style.

Any ideas how to correct it?

Look at the definition for the style (Format/Style/Modfiy, click Format),
checking the LANGUAGE. This has possibly been set to a RTL language.
