how do I cancel shortcut keystrokes

I inadvertantly held down the right hand shift key for over 8 seconds which
brought up a change in keystrokes from lower case to upper case (trying to
type a , resulted in < being typed - cannot get rid of this in my word
document - please help!!

Control Panel | Accessibility Options: Sticky Keys. And you may want to
clear the check boxes that enable the shortcuts that got you in trouble.
