How do I cancel an outgoing message%3f

I have attached a 20MB file to an outgoing message and want to cancel the
transmission. It is not keeping me from sending other messages, but it is
slowing everything down.
 
If you have Outlook 2003, click file > work offline, close and reopen
outlook, delete the message from your outbox, make sure you switch back
