How do I bring up the help menu on the right side of the screen

There was a menu on the right hand side of word 2003 that had word options on
it as well as the ability to open previous files that were saved, and it
showed those files. Somehow that menu got toggled off on my computer and I
would like to turn it back on. Please Help.

View | Task Pane will bring up the Getting Started task pane, which sounds
like what you want. If you want to see this at startup, there's a check box
for it on the View tab of Tools | Options.

Thanks for the reply but it didn't help. I think that it may have something to do with the fact that I listed the wrong version of Word above. I checked and it is Word 2000. Thanks for the reply and sorry for listing the wrong version of Microsoft Word. If you can still help let me know, because I tried to do what you told me to try but that option was not available.

The task pane was introduced in Word 2002; it is not available in Word 2000.
There is a list of recently used files at the bottom of the File menu,
however.
