I have found that I am getting lots of programs my sons
are down loading from the net I thought XP blocked
everyone but the administrator down loading a program. I
have checked the accounts and I am the only administrator
I could use some help here.

Find where the phone cord plugs into the back of the computer. Unplug it.
Find where the cord plugs into the wall, Unplug it. Put cord in your
pocket. Tell the kids they don't get it back until they can behave.

I think you could create a restricted accounts for the children whereby
they will
only have access to certain controls on the pc. The restrictions could
include installation of programs and what else you want to stop them from.
I would suggest they log into their own accounts separately by means of a
password for this to be effectief. Because once they are logged into your
account it is like the "administrator himself" is doing the installation
but, with their own in logging XP will recognise that hei this is not the
"boss" and will refuse installations.
Infact most programs refuse to install because you don't have the
administrator's rights.

hope it helps.

You need to educate yourself about computers in general and the XP
operating system. The "Dummies" series of books is good, despite the
unfortunate name. You need to set rules about your computer for your
children and enforce them. You don't say how old your kids are, but
they probably know more than you do. It might even be worthwhile for
you to hire a local computer professional to come over and give you
some lessons and set things up properly for you. In the meantime, I
certainly hope you're running a current antivirus program and keeping
it, and your operating system, updated.
