When exchanging replies to the same message back & forth with another user
the subject line keeps getting added with Re: for every reply.
Is there any way that this can be avoided by turning an option off ?

Please let me know at (e-mail address removed)

There's something incompatible in the format of the subject for each of your
mail clients. Your best bet is to simply remove the extra Re: each time you
reply.

Brian,

Thanks for your reply. I need to set this up for executives in my company
and they don't want to have to delete Re: everytime they send a reply. You
mentioned that they may be something incompatible in the format of the
subject for each of our
mail clients. Can you tell me anything more - for instance where the
settings for the subject line could be?

There are no settings for the subject line in Outlook. If your executive
exchanges mail with someone whose mail client puts "Re :" a space before the
colon, there's nothing you can do about it; Outlook will not recognize it as
a reply. Outlook will recognize "re: ", "Re: ", and "RE: " and "Re:subject"
(i.e., no space after the colon). I just tried all of these examples to
make sure. The only one Outlook choked on was when there was a space
between the Re and the colon.
