How do I automate the opening of hyperlinks in Excel ?

Hi,

I have an Excel workbooks which has 4 hyperlinks to other Exce
workbooks within the same directory.

People update these four Excel workbooks. What I want to do is have i
that when I open the 'master' workbook I don't see the four hyperlink
but instead the hyperlinks are automatically replaced by the workbook
they are linked to - i.e. I open a compiled document with no hint of
hyperlink in sight - if I now save this document somewhere or send i
to someone there will be no reference back to the hyperlinks - it wil
be as if the Excel file had been written as one.

I am a VBA beginner and am sure this is possible (and easy to code)
Any help much appreciated.

Alternatively I can't believe this option isn't already available i
Excel Hyperlink options without the need to dabble in VBA, but I am a
a loss to find it.

Please help!!!

I'm using Office 97.

Hi
if I understood you correctly this can only be achieved with VBA
merging the different workbooks into one. there's some example code on
the following site:

but I'm not so sure this is what you're looking for.
