I have a similiar question:

My email carrier is Yahoo. Everytime, I attach a word 2007 document and send
the email, the response I receive back is to send the document in a Microsoft
format. Is it possible the receiver of the email cannot open my document
because of the new docx extension. If so, how do I get around this? I also
have the same problem when I try to upload a document in online applications.

Looking for a solution. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Save the document as Word 97-2003 format.
